Why Are We Running this Program?
- Biblical illiteracy is staggering. Only 24% of Americans believe the Bible is the literal word of God. (Gallup)
- 14% of Americans believe there are no holy books – including the Bible. (Barna)
- About half of Americans (53 percent) have read relatively little of the Bible. One in 10 has read none of it, while 13 percent have read a few sentences. (Lifeway Research)
- Not even 50% of American adults can name the four gospels, over 50% of graduating high school students think Sodom and Gomorrah were husband and wife, and 60% of Americans can’t name half of the Ten Commandments.
“WORD with Zach” is designed to encourage daily devotions and, more importantly, daily BIBLE reading that will help not only fight biblical illiteracy but help them have a passion for Christ through a deep relationship with Him.
